Binance Partners with BlockScholes for Crypto Trading in Philippines

Binance has partnered with BlockScholes Technologies to provide Philippine users with access to cryptocurrency trading. This partnership is based on the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) crypto asset service provider framework, which allows for the creation of a strategic sandbox known as Stratbox.

BlockScholes' chief legal officer, Marie Antoinette Quiogue, explained that BlockScholes connects Philippine users to Binance's global trading platform. She noted that trading activity falls under the SEC's jurisdiction and that neither Binance nor BlockScholes handles peso transfers.

The partnership has not obtained a virtual asset service provider (VASP) licence from the Philippine central bank, which stated that neither company is authorised to operate as a VASP. The central bank is discussing the matter with the SEC.
