JPMorgan Launches Ethereum-Based Tokenized Money Market Fund Proposal
JPMorgan's latest foray into blockchain finance involves launching a tokenized money market fund on Ethereum, which would allow investors to buy and sell tokens representing ownership of U.S. Treasury-backed securities.
The new product, if approved, would trade under the ticker JLTXX and would be managed by the bank's asset management arm. The tokens would represent ownership of a portfolio backed by U.S. Treasury securities and repurchase agreements, with actual assets held by a traditional custodian.
This setup allows for representation of fund ownership on the blockchain while maintaining existing custody practices.
