Injective Defeats MEV Attacks with Groundbreaking Blockchain Upgrade

Injective, a Layer 1 blockchain built on the Cosmos SDK, has made history by becoming the first MEV-resistant L1 to go live on mainnet. This achievement is significant because it prevents the manipulation of prices by miners, known as Miner Extractable Value (MEV), which can result in losses for traders.

The protocol's core defense mechanism is called Frequent Batch Auctions, which fundamentally changes how transaction ordering works. Instead of processing transactions one by one, the system batches them together at fixed intervals, similar to a sealed-bid auction where everyone submits their orders simultaneously.

This architecture removes the informational advantage that MEV actors typically enjoy and eliminates gas fees for users, making it an attractive solution for high-frequency trading applications. The protocol also claims approximately 25,000 transactions per second with sub-second block finality, built on Tendermint consensus.
