DeFi Industry Moving Towards Traditional Finance

The decentralized finance (DeFi) sector is slowly transforming into a more traditional financial landscape, according to industry leaders.

Aave Labs founder Stani Kulechov and Ethena CEO Guy Young said that DeFi is only now beginning to provide an environment where users can earn returns similar to bonds or savings products. This shift is being driven by the need for stability in an otherwise volatile market, where tokens and assets can experience significant price swings.

Young pointed out that traditional fixed-income instruments, such as bonds, distribute risk in different formats, allowing investors to choose between stable and variable returns. He noted that this concept has been applied to DeFi through the development of new tools, enabling users to lock in returns and mitigate risks associated with market volatility.
