Comox Man Accused of Misusing Millions from Cryptocurrency Investors
A former resident of Comox, British Columbia is facing allegations of cryptocurrency trading bot fraud.
The B.C. Securities Commission (BCSC) claims that Connor Sinclair Gardiner-Ingram took $4.6 million from a group of investors between 2021 and 2024, promising to invest in a trading bot that would generate profits after a certain period.
Gardiner-Ingram allegedly used the funds for personal expenses including travel, jewelry, luxury goods, vehicles, transfers to his family, and cash withdrawals.
The BCSC alleges that Gardiner-Ingram committed fraud under B.C.'s Securities Act by lying to investors about various aspects of the investment, including who coded the trading bot and what bank accounts he had.
