XRP Ledger Completes First Cross-Border Tokenized Treasury Settlement

A major milestone has been achieved in the world of blockchain and finance as JPMorgan, Ripple, Ondo Finance, and Mastercard successfully completed a pilot transaction involving tokenized treasuries on the XRP Ledger. This landmark achievement marks the first time that a cross-border tokenized treasury settlement has been conducted in real-time.

The collaboration between these financial heavyweights demonstrates the growing trend of tokenization, with JPMorgan leading the charge. The bank's tokenized deposit token, JPM, was launched on the Base network earlier this year and plans to expand to the Canton network.

As part of the pilot transaction, Ondo Finance processed Ripple's OUSG redemption on the XRP Ledger, and Mastercard's Multi-Token Network routed instructions to JPMorgan's Kinexys. The USD was then delivered to Ripple's Singapore bank account in real-time.
