JPMorgan Chase & Co. was previously a vocal critic of bitcoin, but has since made significant changes, including allowing customers to use their bitcoin holdings as collateral for home mortgages.

Trump attributed this shift in attitude to the fact that these banks had lost and could no longer push back against the growth of cryptocurrencies.
