Asterium Expands Crypto Usage Beyond Trading with Real-World Payments

Asterium, a licensed digital asset infrastructure platform based in Uzbekistan, has taken a significant step forward in making cryptocurrency more accessible to its users. The company has launched real-world crypto payments across various sectors, including cafes, airlines, and retail.

Through its integration with Rahmat, the largest digital payment platform in Uzbekistan, Asterium users can now pay for food and dining experiences using crypto assets. Additionally, travel payments have been enabled via merchants connected to Octobank, including airline ticket purchases with Centrum Air and Qanot Sharq.

The company's expansion aims to make crypto assets usable in everyday life, beyond trading. According to Nadejda Cotsaga, CCO of Asterium, 'The next phase of crypto — its utility.' The launch comes as Uzbekistan continues to position itself as one of the most progressive regulated crypto markets in the region.
