Musk Compares Anthropic to FTX: Effective Altruism Roots

Elon Musk has weighed in on the growing similarity between AI giant Anthropic and the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

In a recent statement, Musk agreed that Anthropic's corporate persona shares striking similarities with FTX. This is particularly evident in their reliance on 'wholesome' branding and marketing efforts aimed at building public trust.

According to tech commentator Lukas (@hyperonline), this 'FTX energy' can be attributed to both firms being built on the philosophy of effective altruism (EA). Bankman-Fried, FTX's former CEO, heavily influenced this movement and even invested $500 million in Anthropic in 2022. Unfortunately, these funds were later discovered to be stolen from FTX customer accounts.
