Tokenization Gains Momentum Amid Institutional Adoption
Real-world asset tokenization has been gaining traction in recent months, with institutional adoption and regulatory clarity contributing to its growth. Major banks and financial institutions are increasingly recognizing the potential of tokenization, which allows for the digital representation of assets on a blockchain.
The World Economic Forum's 2025 report highlights the benefits of tokenization, including increased efficiency, reduced costs, and improved transparency. Tokenized finance also has the potential to enhance liquidity, risk management, and governance across the global financial system.
However, despite these promising developments, some experts caution that markets are still valuing tokenized finance as a long-term trend rather than a short-term reality. According to McKinsey, tokenized market capitalization could reach around $2 trillion by 2030, but this forecast may be too conservative given the current pace of adoption.
