At this year's EthCC conference in Cannes, a decline in female participation has been observed, echoing broader corporate layoffs that have disproportionately affected non-technical roles across finance and technology. This trend is not limited to the Ethereum ecosystem but rather reflects industry-wide patterns.

A report by PlexusRS reveals that women still account for under 8% of crypto hires, despite a 137% year-on-year increase in female placements into Web3 roles. The concentration of women in non-engineering positions like marketing, community, communications, and events is particularly pronounced, precisely the categories targeted for cuts during the latest downturn and AI-driven structural shifts.
