Blockchain Suggested as Key to Verifying AI-Generated Content
The use of AI-generated content is becoming increasingly prevalent in financial markets, raising concerns about misinformation. To address this issue, Michael Selig, chair of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), suggests that blockchain technology could be used to verify AI-generated content.
Selig made his comments during an appearance on The Pomp Podcast, where he emphasized the importance of maintaining US leadership in crypto. He noted that regulators are focused on ensuring that the country remains at the forefront of technological innovation.
The CFTC chair also highlighted the need for regulation to focus on participants engaging in financial activity, rather than software developers building tools. This approach is intended to prevent over-regulation and allow technology to continue developing without undue restrictions.
