FIFA has introduced an AI-powered scouting tool for teams participating in the 2026 World Cup. Football AI Pro, developed in collaboration with Lenovo, will provide every team with a bespoke analysis system. This tool uses a 'Football Language Model' trained on hundreds of millions of FIFA-owned data points.

The model can generate text reports, video summaries, statistical graphs, and 3D visualizations covering over 2,000 metrics. Coaches can ask questions in multiple languages, and the system will respond with tailored analysis. However, the tool is restricted to pre- and post-match use only, ensuring it doesn't interfere with gameplay.

The introduction of Football AI Pro aims to promote democratization within the World Cup format. With 48 teams participating this year, FIFA wants to provide a level playing field for all competitors, especially those with smaller budgets. By offering the same analytical baseline, FIFA seeks to make expansion more inclusive and not just about increasing revenue.
