Donald Trump has nominated Jay Clayton, known for his involvement in the Ripple lawsuit, as Director of National Intelligence. This nomination comes after a series of events that have raised eyebrows in the crypto community.
The Trump family has reportedly reaped billions from their involvement in various crypto ventures, including World Liberty Financial, TRUMP meme coin, ALT5 Sigma, and American Bitcoin. These ventures are estimated to have produced around $2.3 billion in family gains.
Meanwhile, Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of FTX, has formally requested executive clemency from the United States Department of Justice. This move is part of a broader effort to mitigate his penalties related to FTX's collapse.
