Guelph Resident Loses Thousands in Cryptocurrency Scam
A resident of Guelph has fallen victim to a cryptocurrency scam worth $14,000 after being misled by a fake celebrity endorsement on social media.
The incident occurred when the woman clicked on an advertisement promoting an investment allegedly endorsed by a popular YouTube content creator. She initially paid $250 to join and later transferred additional funds after receiving instructions from someone she believed was representing the company.
