Kazakhstan Stock Exchange Lists First Bitcoin-Linked ETF
The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) has listed its first Bitcoin-linked ETF for qualified investors. The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, managed by BlackRock, tracks the spot price of Bitcoin and offers a regulated way to participate in Bitcoin price movements through the stock market.
The fund's ticker is IBIT_KZ and it is primarily listed on NASDAQ under the same symbol (IBIT). It has a management fee of 0.25% and average trading costs of approximately 0.02%. The admission initiator was Freedom Finance JSC, and trading will be available exclusively to qualified investors through authorized brokers participating in KASE.
KASE Management Board Chairperson Adil Mukhamejanov commented on the listing, saying that it is an important event for the domestic capital market and provides a legal alternative to the gray and illegal circulation of crypto assets. He also emphasized that investors should carefully consider the risks associated with cryptocurrency-related assets due to their historically high volatility.
