Meta and Solana Team Up on Stablecoin Payments
Meta Platforms has made a significant move into the world of cryptocurrency by partnering with the Solana network to launch a stablecoin payment solution.
The solution, which will allow creators on Facebook to receive payments in USDC, is part of a growing trend towards using blockchain infrastructure for faster and lower-cost settlement solutions.
With this integration, Meta will be offering Circle's USDC stablecoin on the Solana blockchain to pay eligible creators. The process will involve users entering their compatible crypto wallet address through Facebook in payout settings.
The payments will be processed via Stripe, a financial services platform that aids payments for all types of businesses.
Western Union has also adopted the Solana network for its USDPT stablecoin launch, which is expected to go live in May. This move could reshape the foundations of global payments due to Western Union's robust influence in cross-border payments.
