Coinbase Clarifies Jurisdiction-Based Product Offerings
Coinbase has clarified how it offers its various financial products to clients across different jurisdictions. The company noted that some offerings, such as securities and listed futures, are provided through separate entities based on client jurisdiction and applicable regulatory memberships.
The entity responsible for providing securities is Coinbase Capital Markets, which is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). On the other hand, listed futures and swaps are available via Coinbase Financial Markets, a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Futures Association (NFA).
Cryptocurrency offerings, meanwhile, are managed by Coinbase, Inc., while international perpetual products are offered through a separate Coinbase entity. The company did not provide additional details about these arrangements or specific jurisdictions.
