Prosecutors have been investigating the collapse of Libra, which lost over 96% of its value after Milei's promotion. The investigation has uncovered a draft agreement outlining a $5 million payment structure linked to Milei's promotional activities. The document was found on an iPhone associated with crypto lobbyist Mauricio Novelli, who developed ties with Milei during the pandemic period.

The discovery raises concerns about potential fraud and corruption. Argentine fraud statutes carry a sentencing range of between one month and six years of imprisonment. Milei has already faced formal fraud charges in connection with his promotion of Libra, and impeachment proceedings have been advanced in the Argentine legislature.
