Tether and Gnosis Back Mobile Crypto Wallet for Emerging Markets

Tether and Gnosis have invested $3.4 million in Sorted, a mobile cryptocurrency wallet designed for low-spec devices in emerging markets.

Launched in 2022, Sorted has already achieved 500,000 downloads and is gaining traction in countries such as Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Bangladesh, and Madagascar.

The funding will enable Sorted to expand its market presence, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, and strengthen integrations with mobile carriers. A new payment feature is scheduled to launch in May.
