Coinbase Expands Derivatives Offerings with Global Stock Perpetual Futures Launch

Coinbase has taken a significant step in its bid to become an 'everything exchange', offering traders outside the US access to stock perpetual futures. The contracts allow for 24/7 leveraged exposure to Mag 7 stocks and ETFs, including some of the world's largest tech companies such as Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla.

The move is part of Coinbase's strategy to integrate traditional and crypto markets, providing traders with a new way to access global equities. The stock perpetual futures are available on both Coinbase Advanced and Coinbase International Exchange, and can be traded using up to 10x leverage for single-stock contracts and up to 20x for ETF perpetuals.

Cross-margining across perpetual futures and spot balances is also supported, improving capital efficiency for active traders and portfolio desks. The launch of stock perpetual futures comes after Coinbase rolled out futures access in 26 European countries earlier this year, further solidifying its position as a major player in the derivatives market.
