Stellar Surges Past Ripple in South Korea Following DTCC Partnership
The recent surge in trading activity for Stellar (XLM) on Upbit has been attributed to a significant partnership between the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and the Stellar Development Foundation.
According to market analysts, this collaboration will link DTCC's tokenization infrastructure with the Stellar blockchain, sparking a 'buy-the-news' reaction among retail traders.
This move has led to a substantial increase in trading activity for XLM, with it surpassing Ripple (XRP) on Upbit. The surge in XLM's price has been notable, climbing about 57% over the past week and reaching $0.23, according to CoinCodex data.
While this development may seem like a direct competition between XLM and XRP, experts suggest that it reinforces a more likely outcome – an emerging multi-chain financial system where different networks serve distinct roles rather than competing for dominance.
