Bitcoin (BTC) has reclaimed its position as the largest asset in the world by market capitalization, surpassing Tesla's ($1.608 trillion) valuation of $1.62 trillion.
This is not a new phenomenon, as Bitcoin first surpassed Tesla in January 2021 during its post-pandemic bull run. The two assets have been swapping places since then, with Tesla reclaiming the lead in February and April 2026 before Bitcoin took back the crown on Sunday.
Bitcoin's market cap has gained 12% over the past 30 days, while Tesla shares have risen by over 24% in the same period. The cryptocurrency is currently trading at $81,319, with a total supply of 21 million and a current holding of 11,509 BTC valued at roughly $936.9 million.
