Ethereum Staking Activity Surges Amid Institutional Investor Participation
In recent months, large institutional investors have been increasingly participating in Ethereum staking activities. According to data from Lookonchain and CryptoQuant, these investors have been rapidly staking their ETH holdings, driving up the overall staking ratio.
Grayscale has been particularly active in this regard, with its Ethereum Mini Trust having staked an additional 19,200 ETH (approximately $44.6 million) in March. The firm had previously staked 57,600 ETH (around $121.6 million).
Other notable participants in the Ethereum staking market include BitMine and SharpLink, which have generated significant revenue from their staking activities. As of March 15, BitMine has staked a total of 3,040,515 ETH, out of its total holdings of 4,595,562 ETH.
The launch of a staking-enabled Ethereum ETF by BlackRock iShares Staked Ethereum ETF (ETHB) is also contributing to the surge in staking activity. This trend is expected to continue, potentially pushing prices higher due to the supply squeeze effect caused by declining exchange reserves and increasing staking ratios.
