bitFlyer Wins First Japanese MiCA License, Expands Across Europe

bitFlyer has become the first Japanese exchange to secure a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

The license was granted by Luxembourg's financial regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), on June 26, just days before MiCA became fully effective across the EU on July 1.

This approval allows bitFlyer Europe to operate across all 27 EU member states through the bloc's passporting system without needing separate licenses in each country.
