Cryptocurrency Pay Interest Surges Among Workers, but Employer Adoption Lags

A survey of over 1,000 full-time employees has revealed a significant interest in receiving part of their paycheck in cryptocurrency. According to the study, conducted by Oobit, 43% of workers are interested in crypto pay, with younger generations leading the way.

Among those who already own digital assets, interest rises to 57%, suggesting that familiarity plays a central role in adoption. However, despite the growing demand for crypto compensation, only 7% of respondents said their employer currently offers this option.

The survey also found that experience with cryptocurrency appears to deepen interest in crypto pay. Active traders or investors were more than three times as likely to favor digital asset pay compared to those with no exposure.
