Quantum Immunity: Zero-Knowledge Proof Systems Defy Quantum Threat

A new study has shed light on the security implications of quantum computing in the cryptocurrency space. Researchers from Coinbase, Stanford, and the Ethereum Foundation have found that zero-knowledge proof systems are immune to quantum attacks due to their reliance on information-theoretic security.

This means that networks like Railgun, PrivacyPools, Aleo, and Aztec, which use ZK proofs for privacy, will remain unaffected by potential future quantum computers. The study concludes that even an infinitely powerful attacker cannot extract more information than the proof was designed to reveal.
