BTQ Deploys Quantum-Resistant Transaction Infrastructure on Bitcoin Testnet
BTQ Technologies has made a notable contribution to the development of quantum-resistant infrastructure for Bitcoin with its recent deployment of the first working implementation of BIP 360 on the Bitcoin Quantum testnet.
The upgrade introduces a new transaction format known as Pay-to-Merkle-Root (P2MR), which restructures how transaction data is committed on-chain and removes the need to expose public keys during certain transaction paths. This feature is critical if quantum computers advance enough to break current cryptographic protections.
BIP 360 preserves key functionality tied to Bitcoin's scaling roadmap, maintaining compatibility with scripting features that underpin systems like Lightning and emerging frameworks such as BitVM and Ark.
