Bitcoin Whale Holdings Show Structural Selling Pressure
The behavior of Bitcoin whales, investors holding between 1,000 to 10,000 tokens of the cryptocurrency, can often be worth monitoring due to their significant influence on the network. CryptoQuant's analysis has highlighted a recent shift in the 365-day trend of these large holders.
As displayed in the chart shared by CryptoQuant, the Bitcoin whales saw a mostly positive 1-year change between late 2023 and mid-2025. However, from mid-2025 onwards, their netflow began to decline, slipping into negative territory ahead of BTC's all-time high above $126,000.
The current yearly netflow of -188,000 BTC indicates that whales are participating in significant distribution. The 365-day trend is declining, signaling structural selling pressure.
