Brazil Enacts Law for Seizing Digital Assets Linked to Crime
Brazil's government has introduced a new law granting authorities the power to freeze, seize, and liquidate digital assets linked to serious crimes. Under the legislation, courts can order precautionary measures such as freezing wallets and blocking exchange accounts during investigations.
The law redirects recovered funds to public security budgets, marking a shift in crypto treatment. Authorities will also apply permanent restrictions on access to exchanges and financial platforms after conviction.
