Harvard Trims Bitcoin Exposure as Mutuum Finance Presale Surpasses $20 Million
Harvard University's endowment portfolio has undergone changes in its cryptocurrency holdings, with a reduction in Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The university's subsidiary, Harvard Management Company, held 5.35 million shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF as of December 31st, valued at approximately $265.8 million. This represents a 21% decrease from the previous quarter and accounts for 12.78% of total assets.
The iShares Ethereum Trust ETF has been added to the portfolio, with Harvard acquiring 3,870,900 shares worth around $86.8 million. The reduction in Bitcoin ETF holdings comes as the leading cryptocurrency retracts by 26% over the last 30 days, falling from $97,000 to below $70,000.
Mutuum Finance's presale has seen significant interest, with more than $20.6 million raised from over 19,020 participants at its Phase 7 price of $0.04. The project features a multi-layered oracle framework to enhance lending security and provides a live testnet for users to experience the ecosystem firsthand.
