Bitcoin Nears $65K as Altcoin Market Remains Stagnant
Bitcoin's steady climb has brought it close to $65,000, but larger-cap altcoins have remained relatively still over the past 24 hours. The market has focused on weekly gains instead, with ZEC leading the pack at a 9% increase to $560.
This weekend's price action is similar to last week's, when Bitcoin hovered around $64,000 for two days before dipping to $61,800 due to increasing tensions between the US and Iran. However, softer-than-expected CPI numbers on Tuesday sent the price soaring to $65,600 by Wednesday.
Despite this momentum, Bitcoin crashed back down to $62,000 on Thursday and Friday but recovered some ground to reach almost $64,000 yesterday. It has yet to reclaim its peak of $65,000.
