XRP Ledger Secures Preliminary EU License Amid Quantum Upgrade Plans
Ripple has secured a preliminary EU license under MiCA, but what does this really mean for XRP holders? The XRP Ledger is getting a coordinated rebuild across security, lending, and liquidity. This includes stronger security against future quantum computers, lending built directly into the ledger, and deeper liquidity for trading.
The upgrade to the XRP Ledger has been years in the making and will help make it a more credible home for banks and payment firms. Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD, already has over $1.7 billion locked up, while the money held in XRPL's own DeFi apps is still under $50 million.
The overhaul helps XRP's long-term outlook but doesn't guarantee a richer token anytime soon. The rebuild strengthens XRPL as a serious home for institutional money over the years, not a trigger that lifts the XRP price this quarter.
