Standard Chartered Forecasts $2.7T DeFi Growth by 2030
Standard Chartered is predicting that decentralized finance (DeFi) will see significant growth in tokenized assets, estimating they could reach $2.7 trillion by 2030, a 37-fold increase from current levels.
The bank's head of digital assets research, Geoff Kendrick, attributes this growth to the increasing adoption of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) and crypto-native assets being used in DeFi protocols.
Currently, only 3% of stablecoins and 10% of tokenized RWAs are actively used in DeFi, but Standard Chartered expects this share to rise to around 30% by the end of 2030.
