Trump Approves Crypto Market Regulation Bill Amendments

U.S. President Donald Trump has approved amendments to the CLARITY Act, paving the way for the passage of a bill that regulates the crypto market.

The CLARITY Act is a framework bill that was first introduced in the summer of 2025 and approved by the U.S. House of Representatives. It now needs to pass in the Senate with at least 60 votes.

Democrats had been pushing for ethics provisions to be included in the bill, which would bar senior officials from having business interests in the crypto sector. Trump reportedly met with Senators Cynthia Lummis and Bernie Moreno last week to discuss these provisions, but it was unclear if an agreement was reached.

However, according to journalist Eleanor Terrett, Trump has since approved a package of amendments that include ethics measures. These amendments have been sent to Republican senators for review, which could lead to the new bill text being made public in the near future.
