Brazil's Central Bank Mandates Independent Audits for Virtual Asset Companies
The Central Bank of Brazil has introduced new regulations for companies working with virtual assets, aiming to increase security and alignment with international standards.
As of June 1st, these companies will be required to submit an independent audit report to operate in the country. This report must verify whether the company has adequate controls to identify suspicious transactions, monitor activities, and comply with regulations against illicit activities.
The new rules are part of a broader regulatory package for cryptoactive platforms, which aims to balance innovation and security while reducing space for fraud and financial scams.
