Hana Financial Expands into Digital Assets with Upbit Stake Acquisition

Hana Financial Group has made its latest move into the digital assets market by acquiring a 6.55% stake in Dunamu, the company behind cryptocurrency exchange Upbit.

The South Korean financial conglomerate agreed to purchase the shares for over $668 million from Kakao Investment, making it the fourth-largest shareholder of Dunamu.

This acquisition is part of Hana's efforts to stay competitive in new finance through strategic equity investments.
