Telegram's plan to take over the TON blockchain has sent shockwaves through the cryptocurrency community. As part of this move, Telegram will assume responsibility for key operational tasks such as network maintenance, transaction validation, and protocol upgrades.
The TON Foundation will step back from daily management but retain a role in community governance and ecosystem development. This shift aims to balance control with community participation and ensure that Telegram can't unilaterally alter the protocol.
The transition is expected to be completed within two to three weeks, during which time Telegram will deploy new validator nodes and migrate operational tools from the foundation's infrastructure.
