US Government Explores Bitcoin's Potential in Network Security
The US government's involvement with Bitcoin has taken a new turn, as top military official Admiral Samuel Paparo revealed that they operate a node on the network.
Paparo made this announcement during a hearing before the House Armed Services Committee, where he explained the purpose behind the government's involvement. The goal is to test and explore the potential uses of Bitcoin in securing networks.
The node is not involved in mining or controlling the network, and Paparo emphasized that the US military views Bitcoin primarily as a tool for cryptography and blockchain technology.
