UK Targets Crypto Scam Infrastructure with Xinbi Sanctions

The UK government has taken a significant step in combating global scam networks by sanctioning Xinbi, a Chinese-language cryptocurrency marketplace accused of enabling large-scale online fraud and human exploitation.

Xinbi was officially designated under the Global Human Rights sanctions regime by the British Foreign Office, making Britain the first country to target the platform. According to Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics firm, Xinbi has processed over $19.9 billion in transactions between 2021 and 2025, acting as an escrow-style marketplace connecting vendors offering illicit services.

The designation highlights Xinbi's support for #8 Park, an industrial-scale scam compound in Cambodia with the capacity to accommodate 20,000 indentured workers. The platform is described by Chainalysis as a 'key node' in a sprawling, crypto-enabled ecosystem that supports scams such as romance and investment fraud, as well as money laundering and the sale of stolen personal data.
