BitMine Closes In on 5% Ethereum Supply with Impressive Holdings
BitMine Immersion Technologies has reported a significant increase in its crypto and cash holdings, totaling $11.4 billion as it prepares for a potential listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The company holds a substantial stash of Ethereum tokens, representing 3.98% of the total supply, with an ambitious goal of accumulating 5%.
The chairman of BitMine, Tom Lee, has highlighted the exceptional performance of ETH in recent times, noting its 6.8% gain since the start of the war and its outperformance against the S&P 500 by a significant margin. This has led him to describe ETH as the wartime store of value.
BitMine's strategy involves shifting from Bitcoin mining to Ethereum treasury accumulation, positioning it among the top crypto treasury firms globally. The company's staking efforts have yielded an annual yield of 2.78% and approximately $196 million in annualised staking revenue.
