Google Report Warns of Quantum Threat to Ethereum Wallets

Google's report has shed light on the growing threat of quantum computing to Ethereum's security.

The paper found that a top-of-the-line quantum computer could crack the private keys of Ethereum's wealthiest wallets in under nine days, putting approximately $20.5 million worth of ETH at risk.

This raises concerns about the vulnerability of individual wallets, which rely on a combination of public and private keys to prevent attackers from tracing transactions back to the original owner.

Furthermore, the paper highlighted the exposure of smart contracts, with over 70 major contracts having admin keys exposed on-chain, holding around $2.5 million worth of ETH.
