BitGo Rolls Out MiCA-Compliant Crypto Infrastructure in Europe
BitGo is expanding its European operations to help crypto businesses meet the requirements of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, which comes into effect on July 1. The company has launched a MiCA-compliant 'crypto-as-a-service' platform that provides regulated custody and compliance infrastructure for exchanges and fintech firms.
The new platform allows partners to connect to regulated custody, trading, onboarding, and wallet systems via APIs, while keeping customer-facing control with the partner. BitGo's service includes programmatic KYC checks, transaction controls, and settlement of supported digital assets.
BitGo has previously obtained a MiCA-related license from BaFin in May 2025 and is positioning its regulated setup as a way for service providers to reduce the time required to operationalize compliance measures during the licensing transition. The company's CEO, Mike Belshe, argued that regulated infrastructure can help firms keep operations moving safely and compliantly during licensing delays.
