Solana Foundation Introduces Enhanced Security Measures for DeFi Protocols

The Solana Foundation has taken a significant step towards enhancing the security of its ecosystem by launching two new initiatives: STRIDE (Solana Trust, Resilience, and Infrastructure for DeFi Enterprises) and SIRN (the Solana Incident Response Network).

STRIDE is a structured security assessment framework designed to provide comprehensive evaluations of Solana DeFi protocols. The framework covers eight key security pillars, with protocols meeting these criteria being publicly assessed to provide transparency for users and investors.

The foundation has partnered with Asymmetric Research to establish the STRIDE framework, which will assess DeFi protocols based on their ability to meet certain security standards. Protocols holding more than $10 million in total value locked (TVL) that meet these standards will receive continuous operational security monitoring and threat detection, with support calibrated to each protocol's risk level.

SIRN is a dedicated network of security firms and researchers tasked with responding to incidents in real-time. Membership in SIRN is prioritized based on protocol TVL, with founding participants including Asymmetric Research, OtterSec, Neodyme, Squads, and ZeroShadow. The network facilitates information sharing, incident coordination, and contributions to the ongoing development of STRIDE.
