Bitcoin Legitimacy Debate Erupts Following Boris Johnson's Comments
Bitcoin's credibility has been questioned after former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson described it as a 'giant Ponzi scheme' in a recent column. In response, Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy, emphasized that Bitcoin operates on a decentralized network design and does not rely on a central organizer or promised returns.
Saylor pointed out that Bitcoin's system is governed by open-source code and market demand rather than centralized management. He also noted that regulators have repeatedly distinguished between cryptocurrency networks and fraudulent investment schemes that claim to trade or use them.
