Stripe and Google Team Up to Revolutionize AI Commerce

Stripe has announced a significant partnership with Google to bring AI shopping capabilities to the Gemini app and AI Mode. This integration is part of Stripe's Agentic Commerce Suite, which aims to become the payments layer for AI commerce.

The suite will enable businesses to sell products directly inside AI apps without building separate integrations. This move is expected to be a major boost for merchants looking to tap into the growing market of AI-driven commerce.

As part of this partnership, several prominent brands including Quince, Fanatics, and JD Sports are expected to join the Google integration, following earlier partnerships with OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta. The Agentic Commerce Suite will also be available on platforms such as Wix, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce.

Additionally, Stripe has launched a range of new products and features, including Link wallets for agents, which allow users to authorize AI agents to make payments on their behalf while keeping real payment details hidden. The company has also introduced streaming payments for AI companies, combining Metronome tracking with stablecoin micropayments on its Tempo blockchain.
