Cardano Founder Criticizes XRP Community's Critical Thinking
Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, has sparked a heated debate with the XRP community after criticizing its members for lacking critical thinking skills.
In a video posted on X, Hoskinson defended his decision not to provide financial support to Ripple during its legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He argued that Ripple had sufficient resources due to its massive pre-mine, which he estimated to be tens of billions of dollars. This allocation, according to Hoskinson, made it unnecessary for Ripple to seek external funding.
However, the main point of contention lies in the CLARITY Act, a piece of legislation that would treat new crypto projects as securities by default unless proven otherwise. Hoskinson believes this would give an unfair advantage to established players like Ripple and hurt the broader cryptocurrency industry. On the other hand, XRP supporters have accused Hoskinson of jealousy and abandoning Ripple during its time of need.
