Soluna Expands Texas Campus Control with Acquisition of Project Dorothy 1B

Soluna Holdings, a leading developer of renewable energy-backed data centers, has taken a significant step in its ambitious plans to transform its Texas campus into an artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing hub. The company has acquired full ownership of the 25-megawatt Project Dorothy 1B facility in Silverton, Texas, as part of its broader effort to consolidate its holdings and assemble a 'generation-to-compute' ownership chain across the 50-megawatt Dorothy 1 complex.

The acquisition was completed on May 19 for approximately $8.8 million, with Soluna using balance sheet cash to fund the purchase. This marks the latest development in Soluna's plans to transition its campus from a bitcoin mining complex to an AI and high-performance computing site, backed by owned renewable energy. With the Briscoe wind farm supplying 150 megawatts of power, Soluna now controls 100% of both Dorothy 1A and 1B.

Soluna's CEO, John Belizaire, stated that completing the acquisition of Dorothy 1 is an important step in the company's broader roadmap toward building Dorothy 3 for AI and high-performance computing. The company plans to relocate existing mining customers from Dorothy 1A to other facilities within its portfolio as part of a longer-term plan to convert the campus for AI and HPC workloads.
