FBI Arrests Man Behind Malware Scheme Stealing Over $220K on Steam
The FBI has arrested and charged Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins, a 21-year-old Florida resident, in connection with a cybercrime operation that allegedly used malware-infected Steam games to steal more than $220,000 in cryptocurrency from victims.
According to U.S. court documents, Wilkins and unnamed co-conspirators allegedly embedded information-stealing malware into several video games distributed through Steam between May 2024 and February 2026.
The scheme reportedly infected approximately 8,000 computers and compromised around 80 cryptocurrency wallets, highlighting the growing threat posed by malware targeting crypto holders through seemingly legitimate software.
