Ethereum Foundation Seeks Top Talent for Core Protocol Development
The Ethereum Foundation has announced the opening of applications for the seventh Ethereum Protocol Fellowship (EPF7), a program designed to expand the core protocol developer ranks. The fellowship is part of the foundation's efforts to strengthen its core development workforce despite maintaining a tighter spending stance.
According to the foundation, EPF7 will be smaller than previous cohorts, with a greater emphasis on deeper involvement in projects. This strategic approach aims to drive more tangible contributions and results from the selected participants. The fellowship will provide mentoring from current core developers and a monthly stipend for the six-month program, which is expected to run from June to November.
The Ethereum Foundation has maintained support for core development areas such as cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs, and Layer 2 while selling part of its ETH holdings to improve treasury efficiency. This decision has been interpreted as a sign of the network's growing competitiveness, but also raises concerns about supply-demand dynamics. A long-term forecast suggests that if Ethereum successfully defends its $2,200 level, it could return to $2,500.
